Lesson Plan 9
Facebook Page Assignment: Character Analysis
Lesson Reflection
This was part 1 in the final assessments of the unit. Students who struggled with writing, and are more visual and creative learners really enjoyed this activity. Students were still required to write and there was also an oral element required in this activity. Students presented their Facebook characters, the quote that represent their character the most, and explain how their characters contributed to the tragic end of the play. In this activity, students demonstrated their understanding, as well as their ability to analyze characters and character contributions to reoccurring themes and texts. This activity also connects modern technology to the original text of "Romeo and Juliet." Overall, this activity linked student interest and background to engaging and learning textual analysis and understanding.
